Sunday morning we headed out to Huber's Orchard/Winery to their Family Farm Park, hoping to beat the crowds of September/October. Unfortunately, it was too early for them to be making their amazing apple cider donuts, so we'll have to go back. (I say Fortunately we get to go back, Kevin would probably say Unfortunately.) :)
First, we had to stop and see the old tractors:
Lew's very confused face as he watched...
a very creepy talking tree.
Onto the Family Farm Park:
Following Dad through the bamboo maze
(Which was fun, unlike the corn maze which was longer, hotter, and generally not as pleasant)
Being carried by Mom (and being attacked by bamboo from above) after walking became too tiring for Lew...
(Again, not as bad as the corn maze where he insisted on being carried most of the time and carried by me, specifically, for some reason)
Approaching The Mountain Slide with Dad
And out the end, sort of
If you squint, you can barely see Lewis in the shadows. He then took off and tried to climb back up (which went as well as expected). Kevin finally was able to scoot down enough to grab him and slide down with him.
There they are!
Kevin's parents came out and met up with us to walk through/feed the animals, do the corn maze, and ride the mountain slide again.
Birds, Chickens, Peacocks
Deer
Deer and a goat
A rabbit
Whee!
He went down the other slide the 2nd time which was far more successful. Even I went down it once--it was super fun!
Happy Grandparents' Day 2012, J&S!
As I said, we'll have to go back out for cider, cider donuts, cider slushes (not sure if they have those or not), a hayride, a pumpkin, wine, etc.
