Spring Things

We went for another class at the zoo last week--this one was called Spring Peepers. It was about animals that hatch from eggs. I'd say it wasn't as successful as last time, for a couple of reasons. First, we were early for a change (shock!) and were put in the story time/animal time first (and then switched to the activity stations second). Lewis wasn't really ready to settle into story time right away, and by the time we got to the activity stations, he was kind of over it. Plus, a couple of stations had real eggs that were breakable and weren't to be touched (or put in the mouth, ahem, Lewis...), so that was hard, keeping him from being destruct-o boy. And this class was only an hour vs. an hour and a half, so they were really rushing us through. It was okay, but not as good as the other class we attended. Oh well! Another nice day at the zoo after the class.
Watching a turtle eat
Decorating an egg shell
Sorting the eggs by color--nope, not doing that at all.
More like: Dumping all of the eggs out, carrying them around the room, moving the chairs the bins were sitting on, etc. He really didn't 'get' this station at all.

After the stations, we went out to the pond to feed the ducks. He did seem to enjoy that.
Turtles sunning on the log (there are 5 of them)

After the class we skipped the animals and went right to the playground for him to run off some of that extra energy. He had a great time there.
Whee!
And one would think when one's toddler runs around for an hour that one's toddler would take a good long nap on that particular day. Nah, that wasn't the case.
