Last week, Lewis was supposed to have Nature Camp, but he had to miss it due to his ear infection. :( (We were able to switch him to an additional week in July, thankfully.) Once he got to feeling better, he said he wanted to go 'at the zoo,' so we went to see the animals and the splash park. It was a really (really!) hot day, which wasn't fun, but we still had a nice time--especially at the splash park and in the shade.
He wanted to stop off to see the white alligator first, so we headed into the HerpAquarium and ran into a lot of school kids and one particularly slithery friend:
Nice snake. :)
That's for you, Grandpa Jim!
He played for about 30 minutes and then said he was finished.
We stopped to see the gorillas and went to the playground, and then we were on our way. He started melting down around the giraffes and fussed and cried all the way to the car. Good times! He still wasn't feeling 100%, plus the heat probably didn't help matters. He took a nice nap that day. :)
Friday, we met up with Tonya and Carlton out at the Parklands for their sprayground and playground. It was, again, pretty hot and humid, but we had a good time. I made sure to get in the water more and get my feet wet, which seemed to help in cooling me down:
Teeter-tottering with Carlton
Loving it!
He spent a good amount of time going back and forth between the playground and sprayground (and sufficiently wore himself out for another good nap day). It was really crowded when we got there with school groups, but they seemed to trickle out as it got closer to lunchtime.
This week, he has Cooking Camp, which should be fun! I can't wait to see what they come up with.
