The Tree Is Up!

Thanks to a day 'off' from Lewis (thank you, Kevin!!!), clutter is put away and organized and the Christmas tree is in its place. I was starting to feel that holiday stress that makes me not want to put decorations out, knowing that I just have to take them down again a few weeks later. I am glad that I had the time today to watch (well, listen to) White Christmas and get the house ready. I went through our ornaments and selected some small and lightweight ones, and I love how our little tree turned out.

Now to find/make time to finish our stockings and Juniper's Christmas gift...
Christmas is two weeks from today, but I will be away from my sewing machine after the 22nd, so I only have a week and a half-ish.

you have a very lovely tree! thanks for remotely sharing the experience. warm and fuzzy to both watch white christmas at the same time!

The World According to Lew

1. Do not eat peanuts and breastfeed Lewis. Puke city. Peanut m&ms, thankfully, are safe.
2. Sometimes he just needs to burp.
3. Do not place in swing or on tummy directly after eating. Puke.
4. He will sleep through the dogs barking most of the time, thankfully, since we happen to have the World's Loudest Dogs.
5. His strength can amaze.
6. Similarly, his smile can melt.
7. Breastfeeding isn't necessarily easy at first, but if you're willing (and able) to make it work, together you can. With help, support, and some tears.

8. Joining a new mom group has been unexpectedly helpful for both of us.

9. A beer a day can do wonders.

10. A pacifier is a helpful tool.

11. Beans are also out. See #1. But replace puke with gas (duh).

12. Pasta with marinara sauce caused baby spewage, twice...perhaps the acidity in the tomatoes? I'll abstain for now. Update: It is Bertolli alfredo sauce.

13. There is apparently a 10 pound weight limit to the fabric hammock in the infant bathtubs. I unfortunately discovered this as he weighed like 14-15 pounds and the seams started ripping apart. Bummer.

14. Now that he is mobile, he is obsessed with power cords and dog toys.

15. Hair pulling. Ouch.

16. It is really hard to get in the habit of brushing his teeth twice a day.

17. I love him more every day.

18. Watching him feed himself and/or drink all by himself makes me smile. It hasn't yet gotten old or any less cute.
